Kids Game - Chocolate Pass the Parcel
This game may be a bit messy so I would suggest playing it in the kitchen or if it’s a nice day on a table outside!
You will need:
- An eating apple for each child
- Melted chocolate
- A selection of sweets like Smarties, Dolly Mixtures and liquorice
- strings for the hair
- Paper plates
- Wooden skewers or lollipop sticks
How to play Chocolate Pass the Parcel
This game is a twist on the classic Pass the parcel game that we all played and loved as children.
You will need:
- A bar of chocolate
- Paper to wrap it in
- A selection of jelly sweets
Wrap the chocolate bar in layers of paper we would recommend using something like grease proof paper cut into squares.
Place a few jelly sweets in between the layers this way the children have a surprise when each layer is unwrapped until finally they get to the big prize.
The children sit in a circle on the floor and music is played. The parcel is passed between the children and when the music stops the child holding the parcel is allowed to ‘unwrap’ the first layer and eat the jelly sweets.
The game continues until the final layer is unwrapped and the child gets to claim their prize.
Helpful Hints: If the children are older you can place forfeits in between the layers as well then the child has to do the forfeit to win the sweets. Examples of forfeits could be for the child to stand on one leg and recite a nursery rhyme or sing a song.
If there is a large group of children you should have more than one parcel this way the children won’t get bored if the one game goes on too long.
