Orange Hot Chocolate with Mallow wands
Cold Weather, Winter Blues, Orange Hot Chocolate with Mallow Wands is just the thing to chase away the doldrums. Cheer up your family and friends when they call round by giving them a lovely hot citrusy drink with a yummy sweet marshmallow wand. MMMM..... Chocolaty heaven!!
Ingredients for Orange Hot Chocolate with Mallow Wands
- For the orange hot Chocolate:
- 570ml milk
- 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
- 1 orange, peeled, zest
- 100g good quality dark chocolate cut into small pieces
- For the Marshmallow Wands
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon icing sugar
- 1 packet white marshmallows
- You will also need 2 wooden skewers
How to make Orange Hot Chocolate with Mallow Wands
Pour the milk into a saucepan along with the orange zest and slowly bring the simmer
Take off the heat and allow the orange zest to infuse into the milk for about 15 minutes
To make the marshmallow wands: Mix the cinnamon with the icing sugar and coat the marshmallow cubes in the sugary dust
Slot three marshmallow cubes onto the wooden skewers and set them aside
Remove the orange zest from the milk
Place the milk back on the heat
Add the sugar and stir until the sugar has melted
Place the chocolate into a heatproof jug and pour on the milk stir until the chocolate has melted
Pour into mugs and serve with the mallow wands on the side for dipping and dunking swirling and scooping.
If you wish you can serve topped with fresh whipped cream and sprinkled with grated chocolate
