Recipe For Chocolate Whiskey Truffles
These Whiskey truffles are just the thing to go along with after dinner coffee.
Ingredients for Chocolate Whiskey Truffles
- 100g/4oz plain/dark chocolate
- 50g/2oz butter
- 1 tablespoon Whiskey
- Yolks of two eggs
- 25g/1oz ground almonds
- 25g/1oz stale cake crumbs
- 225g/8oz sifted icing sugar
- Drinking chocolate
How to make Chocolate Whiskey Truffles
Break the chocolate and place with the butter into a bowl standing over a pan of hot water.
Leave until both have melted, stirring occasionally.
Add the Whiskey and egg yolks, stir well.
Stir in the remaining ingredients except the drinking chocolate.
Pour onto a plate and leave to cool this usually takes between 1-1 ½ hours
The mixture should be firm by this stage.
Roll into equal amounts, you should get about 36 truffles depending on the size you want them.
Roll in the drinking chocolate.
Place truffles into paper sweet cases or petit four cases, you should be able to find these in your local supermarket.
Safe for freezing, keeps for 1-2 months
