Kids Game - Chocolate Madness
This game is lots of fun and we used to play it as children.
For this game you will need:
- A wrapped bar of chocolate
- Dressing up clothes, even a couple of hats, scarves and gloves
- A plate, it might be safer to use a paper plate especially with younger children
- A knife and fork
- Two dice
How to play Chocolate Madness
The children sit around in a circle on the floor. Place the dressing up clothes in the centre of the circle along with the plate, knife and fork and of course the chocolate.
The children then take it in turns to throw the dice then pass them on to the next child on the left. Whoever throws a double has to jump up, run to the centre of the circle, put on the dressing up clothes and try to unwrap and eat some of the chocolate using only the knife and fork. They have to keep going until the next child throws a double at which point their turn is over and they have to hand the dressing up clothes to the child whose turn it is.
Helpful Game Tips: This game can get noisy with all the dressing up so you can change the rules as you go along for example throwing a three or a six instead of a double.
Or instead of using dice you could play this game in the same way as but using music instead if dice. You play a radio or C.D and when you turn it off the child gets a turn. This way you have more control and can ensure that every child gets a turn.
It might be wise to have an extra bar of chocolate just in case you find that one child is particularly good at the game.
If you have a lot of children you could have two sets of dice going in the opposite direction and limit the winning throw to a double six or double one.
