Chocolate Cookie & Biscuit Recipes
In the 1930’s, in Whitman, Massachusetts, a lady named Ruth Graves Wakefield and her husband owned the Toll House Inn. Ruth used to do all the cooking and she prided herself on providing her guests with great hospitality that included tasty homemade food, especially her homemade cookies.
One day she realised that she had forgotten to buy her usual cooking chocolate and decided to use a milk chocolate bar instead, which she chopped into little pieces.
When she brought them out of the oven she saw to her surprise that the chocolate chips hadn’t melted into the dough as they would have usually done.
Her guests, and in fact the world have loved her invention of chocolate chip cookies ever since.
There is nothing nicer than coming home from a hard day either at work or shopping and sitting down for a few minutes and cuddling a hot frothy cup of coffee and indulging in your favourite chocolate biscuit.
Thinking of things that make you feel cosy and warm, there is nothing we like better than smelling the kitchen while the oven is on and we are waiting for that 1st batch of chocolate cookies to come out.
Oh yes, now that is heaven!
Fancy trying that bit of heaven for yourself then dip in to our biscuit barrel of recipes and try our Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe or the ever popular Millionaires Shortbread.
